Questions & Answers

Q. How much does the treatment cost?

A. Consultation £40.

B. Treatment Costs - £2.00 per minute (after consultation).

Q. How does the treatment work?

A. A disposable probe is inserted into each hair follicle for a couple of seconds releasing heat into the base cauterising the blood supply which is attached to the hair whilst in the growing phase of cycle .The hair can then be removed with no traction. The process can be repeated as soon as the hair grows through the skin. Eventually the hair will stop growing.

Q. Is it painful.

A. Individual pain threshold and the size of hair will determine the overall discomfort. As the client does not know what to expect, often the first treatment usually is the most uncomfortable. Following treatments are found to be more tolerable.

Q. How many treatments will I need?

A. Electrolysis is a progressive treatment. It depends on hair size and density. It is very important to follow treatment plan as advised for desired results. Treatments become further apart as the hairs become finer and weaker. A test patch will be given during consultation to enable the client to experience the treatment and for the therapist to monitor skin reaction.

Q. How many hairs can be treated in one session?

  • Question depends on various factors.
  • The sensitivity of the skin. The skin must have time to heal naturally.
  • The size and density of the hair.
  • The treatment method most suited to client and skin. E.g Diathermy or Blend.
  • Financial restrictions.

Q. How will my skin look after treatment?

A . It’s normal for the skin feel warm and sensitive, look pink and possibly slightly swollen or angrier depending on chosen method. Reactions can last for 24hr - 48hrs. Therefore extremely important to follow aftercare given.

Q. What colour hair can be treated?

A.. All colours can be treated, included white/grey.
